Rice prices today on July 23, 2023 in the Mekong Delta region remained stable. Accordingly, at An Giang warehouse, the price of IR504 rice is being purchased by traders at 6,700 – 6,900 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice at 6,900 – 7,100 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice ranges from 6,400 to 6,600 VND/kg; OM 18 rice price 6,600 – 6,800 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 6,600 – 6,800 VND/kg; Japanese rice is also stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice (dry) at 13,000 VND/kg.

With sticky rice, Long An sticky rice (fresh) at 6,300 – 6,600 VND/kg; An Giang sticky rice (fresh) 6,000 – 6,300 VND/kg; AG (dry) sticky rice at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (dry) costs 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of raw rice and finished products is adjusted to increase by 50-100 VND/kg. Accordingly, IR 504 raw rice is at 10,200 – 10,300 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg. Finished rice is at 11,700 – 11,800 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg.

With by-products, the price of IR 504 sheet fluctuates from 9,800 to 9,900 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dried bran is 7,350 VND/kg.

According to traders, now the amount of rice is less than yesterday, the market rice transaction is quiet. Rice prices tend to increase. Demand to buy a lot for long-cut rice.

In the past week, the domestic rice price adjusted up. Domestic rice trading is active. Rice prices mostly recorded an uptrend compared to the previous week.

At retail markets, the price of rice is usually 11,500 – 12,500 VND/kg; Intestinal sticky rice remained stable at 14,000 – 16,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice is priced at 22,000 VND/kg. Long grain Thai fragrant rice maintains 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice costs 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg.

Huong Lai rice costs 19,000 VND/kg; Common white rice costs 14,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice costs 18,500 VND/kg; Soc rice usually fluctuates from 14,000 to 15,000 VND/kg.

Soc Thai rice stable price 18,000; Taiwanese fragrant rice costs 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg and bran remains at 8,500 – 9,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, the export price of rice slowed down after an upward correction. Specifically, 5% broken rice traded at 533 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 513 USD/ton.

After India had a ban on rice exports, international customers asked to buy a lot. In the past week, delivery of Vietnamese rice to markets increased sharply compared to the previous week. Especially with 2 main types, Dai Thong 8/OM 18 and IR 504. Export rice price also recorded a strong increase.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – General Director of Phuoc Thanh IV Co., Ltd., Vinh Long, said that every day, the price of rice increased by 200 VND/kg. Rice exporters also face many difficulties. Especially the units that still owe the old contracts. The price increased so high and so fast, it was difficult for me to sign a new contract.

“Now I have to be proactive. The first is to focus on buying goods, ensuring that there is a quantity of goods in stock to supply to the markets that we currently have to ensure keeping the market. Secondly, I have to focus on buying quality goods so that I can have enough goods when signing a contract with a partner, I have no risk,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh.
