Rice prices today on September 6th, 2023 in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam: Traders stopped buying, rice prices fluctuated

Today’s rice price on September 6 in the domestic market adjusted in opposite directions between rice types. The Autumn-Winter rice market traded slowly, traders stopped buying.

Rice prices today, September 6, in the Mekong Delta region adjusted mixed between commodities.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, OM 5451 rice increased by 100 VND/kg to the price of 7,800 – 8,100 VND/kg; Fresh An Giang sticky rice increased by 100 VND/kg to 6,300 – 6,500 VND/kg. Meanwhile, fresh Long An sticky rice decreased slightly by 50 VND/kg to 7,300 – 7,450 VND/kg.

For the remaining categories, prices remain stable. Accordingly, Dai Thom 8 rice is stable at 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice fluctuates around 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 8,000 – 8,400 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice is stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in the Mekong Delta region today, the rice market traded slowly. Traders stopped buying due to bad weather, and autumn-winter rice prices tended to decrease. The source of summer-autumn rice is exhausted. In An Giang, sticky rice trading is stable. The price of sticky rice has leveled off compared to yesterday. Long An sticky rice price fluctuates slightly.

In Lap Vo, Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the amount of rice arriving is small, warehouses buy a lot but the quantity is small, rice prices are stable. In Tien Giang, rice output is small, prices have decreased slightly with low quality rice, high quality rice prices are stable.

At retail markets in An Giang province, rice prices are stable and unchanged. In which, the price of glutinous rice is 16,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Normal rice is at 12,500 – 14,000 VND/kg, Nang Nhen rice is at 23,000 VND/kg; long grain fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice at 16,000 – 18,500 VND/kg; Huong Lai 19,500 VND/kg; common white rice 15,500 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 19,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 16,500 – 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg…

In the rice export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), export rice prices remain stable around 628 – 643 USD/ton. Accordingly, the export price of 5% broken rice is at 643 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 628 USD/ton.

In the first eight months of the year, Vietnam exported nearly 5.9 million tons of rice, up 23% over the same period last year. This figure exceeds that of its direct competitor, Thailand, with 5.3 million tons.

In the domestic market, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, domestic paddy and rice prices in August tend to increase by 200 – 800 VND/kg in the context of many fluctuations in the world market after some Countries such as India and Myanmar impose some supply restrictions.
