With rice products, rice prices continue to increase. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates around 11,900-12,000 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice was also adjusted to increase by 50 VND/kg to 13,900-14,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, by-product prices also increased by 100 VND/kg with dry bran, while remaining stable with IR 504 panels. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 panels is at 11,900-12,000 VND/kg; The price of dry bran fluctuates around 6,550 – 6,700 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg.

Recorded in the Mekong Delta region today, the Fall-Winter rice market is less volatile. The source of Summer-Autumn rice in Soc Trang is abundant, the rice area is almost completely piled up, mainly traded for resale.

On the export market, export rice prices turned down after many sideways sessions. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), in the trading session on May 25, the export price of 5% broken rice was at 608 USD/ton, down 5 USD/ton compared to September 24. The price of 25% broken rice also decreased by 10 USD/ton to 593 USD/ton.

Data from AgroMonitor shows that in the first 19 days of September 2023, Vietnamese rice deliveries to main markets had many strong fluctuations. In particular, the amount of deliveries to the Philippines is much lower than last month while deliveries to China, Malaysia and Indonesia are almost equal to the previous month.

Many rice industry businesses believe that export rice prices in the coming time will likely not increase much because importing countries have made certain adaptations after a period of crisis. Therefore, to increase output and increase rice export turnover, businesses still aim to implement high-quality rice contracts with high selling prices.
