Rice prices today on September 15th, 2023 in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam: After the decline, finished rice and raw materials increased again

Today’s rice price on September 15 in the domestic market fluctuated in opposite directions as it went sideways with rice while rice and by-products increased from 100-400 VND/kg.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province on the morning of September 14, prices of all types of rice today continued to move sideways. Currently, OM 18 rice is priced at 8,000 – 8,100 VND/kg, Dai Thom 8 rice is stable at 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 has a price of 7,700 – 8,000 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 8,000 – 8,400 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice is stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

With sticky rice, dry An Giang sticky rice is at 9,200 – 9,400 VND/kg; Dry Long An sticky rice ranges from 9,300 – 9,450 VND/kg.

As for rice products, today they increased again after continuous decreases in the past few days. Accordingly, IR 504 raw rice fluctuates around 11,600 – 11,850 (up 150 VND); IR 504 finished rice is at 13,750 – 13,800 VND/kg (up 100 VND).

Similarly, by-products also increased slightly. In which, the price of IR 504 panels increased to 11,800 – 11,900 (an increase of 400 VND). The price of dry bran alone remains stable at 7,100 – 7,200 VND/kg.


Recorded in the Mekong Delta region such as An Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap…. rice trading is quiet today. Specifically, in An Giang today, sticky rice trading is quiet and demand is slow. Factories asked to buy back regularly and it was easier to sell than a few days ago.

Similarly, in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the price of IR50404 rice is stable, IR50404 Cambodian rice has poor quality due to rain. Meanwhile, with rice products, traders said that the amount of raw rice coming in was limited, there was little beautiful rice, and warehouses asked to buy them all. Prices are generally stable.

At retail markets, rice prices fluctuate in opposite directions between items. Specifically, while Jasmine fragrant rice decreased by 1,500 VND, down to 15,500-17,000 VND/kg, sticky rice and regular rice increased by 1,000 VND. After adjustment, sticky rice is currently at 16,000-21,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday; Regular rice is usually priced at 13,000-15,000 VND/kg. In addition, popular white rice also increased slightly by 500 VND, to 16,000 VND/kg.

Some remaining rice prices are stable, including: Nang Nhen Rice priced at 23,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai 19,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 19,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 16,500 – 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg…

On the export market, export rice prices today went sideways after yesterday’s sharp drop. According to analysts, India’s imposition of export taxes has paralyzed activity in India this week. India’s 5% broken parboiled rice price is offered at 525-535 USD/ton, still close to the record level of 520-540 USD reached on August 31.

Meanwhile, export prices from Vietnam and Thailand continue to decline from recent highs. With Vietnamese rice, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of 5% broken rice is currently at 613-617 USD/ton and 25% broken rice fluctuates around 598-602 USD/ton. Thai rice was adjusted slightly down from 2-8 USD/ton. After adjustment, the price of 5% broken rice in this country is 611-615 USD/ton (down 2 USD) and 25% broken rice is at 550-554 USD/ton (down 8 USD). In addition, another supply source, Pakistan, currently has prices of 608-612 respectively for 5% broken rice; 538-542 USD/ton with 25% broken rice.
