Rice prices today on May 16th, 2024 in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam: The demand for buying Summer-Autumn rice is not much
It was recorded that rice today, May 16, in the domestic market remained stable compared to yesterday. Currently, the demand for buying Summer-Autumn rice is not much, mainly for rice that has already bloomed.
Rice prices today May 16 in the Mekong Delta region continue to trend sideways.
Specifically, for rice products, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of Long An Sticky Rice fluctuates around 9,800 – 10,500 VND/kg; IR 504 rice is at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg; OM 380 rice maintains around 7,500 – 7,700 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice maintained at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice remained stable at 7,600 – 7,800 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg; Japanese rice price is 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.
It is noted that in localities, there is currently not much demand for buying Summer-Autumn rice, mainly rice that has already bloomed. In Dong Thap, the demand for buying Summer-Autumn rice soon slowed down due to reduced quality. With dry rice, warehouse prices are overpriced, many people are not in a hurry to sell.
In the rice market, prices of raw rice and finished products today continue to trend sideways. In An Giang, the quantity of new rice is low, the quality of new rice is reduced, and it is difficult to sell.
Specifically, IR 504 rice is stable around 11,600 – 11,800 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice is at 14,000 – 14,100 VND/kg.
Regarding by-products, by-product prices today remained stable for broken rice and dry bran. Currently, the price of OM 5451 plate remains stable at 10,400 – 10,500 VND/kg; Dry bran fluctuates around 6,600 – 6,700 VND/kg.
At retail markets, rice prices also did not fluctuate. Currently, rice prices often fluctuate around 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17,500 – 19,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice 26,000 VND/kg; long-sliced pineapple 19,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg. Common white rice 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 19,500 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice costs 18,500 VND/kg; Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg.
On the export market, today’s export rice price remained stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the export price of 5% broken rice is currently at 587 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 560 USD/ton; 100% broken rice remained stable at 480 USD/ton.
