Accordingly, in An Giang, according to the update of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 rice is at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg; OM 18 at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 7,300 – 7,600 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 7,200 – 7,600 VND/kg; Japanese rice is also stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice (dry) at 13,000 VND/kg.

With sticky rice, Long An sticky rice (fresh) at 6,700 – 7,000 VND/kg; price of fresh An Giang sticky rice at 6,300 – 6,600 VND/kg; AG (dry) sticky rice at 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (dry) costs 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of raw rice remained stable in the last session of the week. Accordingly, the price of raw rice is at 12,100 – 12,200 VND/kg; finished rice price is at 14,100 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of IR 504 sheet remained at 11,600 VND/kg; dry bran at 7,600 VND/kg.

On the domestic rice market, in An Giang, retail prices of rice remained stable. The price of common white rice is 15,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 19,000 VND/kg; Soc ordinary rice 16,000 VND/kg, Soc Thai 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg.

According to traders in the Mekong Delta region, at the end of the week, the amount of raw rice is low, and the warehouses are slow to buy. The rice market was temporarily suspended in the last session of the week.

In the past week, rice prices in the domestic market continuously increased sharply in the beginning and middle of the week. However, in the last 2 sessions of the week, rice prices dropped. However, at the end of last week, the price of many varieties of rice still increased sharply compared to the previous week. Specifically, Dai Tho 8 increased by 500 VND/kg, OM 18 increased by 800 – 1,100 VND/kg; IR 504 and OM 5451 increased from 300 – 500 VND/kg.

According to the Vietnam Food Association, from August 3 to 10, 2023, the domestic price of rice has increased from 500 to 1,300 VND/kg. Accordingly, the average price of ordinary rice in the field is 7,800, an increase of 600 VND/kg; normal rice at warehouse at 9,400, up 700 VND/kg; grade 1 brown at 12,950 VND/kg, up 1,300 VND/kg; grade 1 white milled rice at 14,900 VND/kg, up 1,300 VND/kg; 5% plate 14,600 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg; 15% plate at 14,350 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg; 25% plate at 14,033 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg.

Currently, because the price of rice is anchored at a high level, many traders and businesses temporarily stop collecting goods to observe the market.

On the rice export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association, on August 10, the export price of 5% broken rice traded at $638/ton; 25% broken rice at $618/ton.

In the past week, Vietnam’s export rice price continued to increase by 20 USD/ton compared to the previous week.

The price of rice in the country is constantly increasing, causing many businesses to face difficulties, many businesses have to apply to move orders to the winter-spring crop next year.
