Rice prices today 8/12/2023: Rice prices move higher

Rice prices today 8/12, while rice prices continue to rise above 200 – 300 VND/kg, rice prices fluctuate differently between categories from 50 – 100 VND/kg. The market trades slowly.

Rice prices today 8/12 in the Mekong Delta region adjusted sharply higher with many types of rice.

Accordingly, in An Giang region, according to the update of the Department of Agriculture and Agriculture of An Giang Province, the price of Tai Thom 8 rice increased by 200 — 300 VND/kg to 9,400 — 9,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice increased by 100 — 200 VND/kg to 9,400 — 9,500 VND/kg; OM 18 rice increased 200 VND/kg to 9,500 — 9,700 VND/kg kg With the remaining varieties of rice, the price goes sideways. Namely, the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice was at 9,200 — 9,400 VND/kg; IR 504 rice remained stable at 8,800 — 9,000 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuated around 8,600 – 8,800 VND/kg.

Similarly, An Giang dry line is stable around 9,400 – 9,800 VND/kg; Long An dry line at 9,400 – 9,800 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of fresh Long An glutinous rice increased by 200 VND/kg to 7,800 — 8,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, for rice varieties today prices fluctuate incomparably between varieties. Accordingly, at the export warehouse in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the price of raw rice IR 504 Viet increased by 100 VND/kg to 12,800 — 12,900 VND/kg; raw rice Tai Thom 8, OM 18 increased by 50 VND/kg to 13,800 — 13,850 VND/kg; raw rice OM 380 increased by 100 VND/kg to 12,650 — 12,750 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice increased to 13,400 — 13,450 VND/kg. In contrast, the price of raw Soc rice decreased by 100 VND/kg to 12,000 — 12,100 VND/kg.

For by-products today there are no fluctuations. Currently, the price of OM 5451 sheet is kept at 11,700 – 11,800 VND/kg and dry bran is stable around 6,600 – 6,700 VND/kg. Recognizing the rice market in the Mekong Delta region today, there are few autumn-winter rice resources, high prices, few transactions. Most of the rice area was pre-piled. Currently, the price of many types of fresh rice in An Giang is being bought by traders at an approximate level of 10,000 VND/kg.

In the rice market, the source of rice comes in less than yesterday. The price of rice of all kinds tends to rise slightly. Fragrant rice is in high demand, warehouses need rice that are willing to pay higher prices to buy it. In An Giang, the amount of rice is stable and the price is less volatile compared to yesterday. In Dong Thap, OM 5451, OM 18 rice prices tend to move slightly compared to yesterday. Rice prices are touted by farmers at a high level.

At retail markets, today the price of Soc rice is usually at 19,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice at 19,500 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice fluctuates around 26,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice is stable at 16,000 – 18,500 VND/kg; Regular rice is usually priced at 12,000 – 14,000 VND/kg; Common white rice 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 19,500 VND/kg; Squirrel rice usually costs 16,000 – 17,000 VND/kg; Thai squirrel rice 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam’s export rice prices stagnated and moved sideways after an upward adjustment session. Accordingly, the export price of 5% broken rice is at 663 USD/ton and the price of 25% broken rice fluctuates around 648 USD/ton.
