Rice prices today June 26 in the Mekong Delta region remained stable compared to yesterday.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, the price of OM 18 rice was purchased by traders for 6,800 VND/kg. OM 5451 rice price 6,300 – 6,500/kg. IR 50404 rice price ranges from 6,200 to 6,400 VND/kg. Nang Hoa 9 rice is purchased by traders with prices ranging from 6,600 to 6,800 VND/kg. The price of Taiwanese fragrant 8 rice ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 VND/kg. The price of Japanese rice ranges from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice (dry) is priced at 13,000 VND/kg. AG (fresh) sticky rice is priced at 6,200 VND/kg. Dried An Giang sticky rice fluctuates around 7,400-7,600 VND/kg. Long An sticky rice is dry at 7,900 – 8,200 VND/kg.

In Soc Trang, the price has increased and decreased depending on the type such as: Radio aromatic 8 at 8,100 VND/kg, up 100 VND/kg; and RVT is 8,100 VND/kg, down 100 VND/kg; OM 5451 alone remained at 7,800 VND/kg.

The same situation happened in Kien Giang, with IR 50404 rice decreasing by 100 VND/kg at 6,400 VND/kg; then OM 5451 increased by 100 VND/kg to 6,800 VND/kg; Jasmine alone is still at 7,000 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of raw rice and finished products slowed down and moved sideways after an upward correction. Specifically, raw rice fluctuates around 9,850 – 9,900 VND/kg. Finished rice remained stable at 11,250 – 11,300 VND/kg. For by-products, broken price remained stable at 9,500 – 9,600 VND/kg, dry bran price was 7,400-7,550 VND/kg.

At the retail market, the price of rice remained stable, ordinary rice remained 11,500 – 12,500 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; Soc rice is usually 15,000 VND/kg; Sticky rice 16,000 – 18,000 VND/kg; Common white rice 14,500 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai 18,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg; Bran 7,600 – 8,000 VND/kg; Long grain Thai fragrant rice maintains 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg and Huong Lai 19,000 VND/kg.

According to the traders, today the amount of raw rice is small. The summer-autumn rice market is vibrant, traders focus on buying a lot of rice.

In the rice export market, the export price of rice continued to remain at a high level. Accordingly, the price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice is being offered at 508 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at $488/ton; Jasmine rice 578 USD/ton.

The high export price of rice helps create positive psychology for people in taking care of and harvesting summer-autumn rice. In Hau Giang, farmers have harvested more than 3,000 hectares out of a total of 75,207 hectares of summer-autumn rice that have been seeded, with an average yield estimated at 6.51 tons/ha.

Regarding the selling price, traders are now buying fresh rice in the field with some key varieties such as OM 18, Dai Thom 8, OM 5451… at the price of 6,100-6,400 VND/kg (depending on the variety). This is a price that does not have a big difference compared to last year’s summer-autumn crop. Through preliminary calculations of farmers, with the above yield and selling price, after deducting investment costs, rice growers earn less than 20 million VND/ha in this summer-autumn crop.
