Today’s rice price update 10/5: Domestic rice increases by 150 VND/kg, while export price slightly increases.

Among ASEAN countries, Vietnam’s rice product is mainly exported to the Philippines. In 2021, the Philippines is Vietnam’s largest rice export market with an export volume of 2.45 million tons.

Today’s rice price in the domestic market has fluctuated in opposite directions, with paddy prices remaining stable while the prices of rice and by-products have increased significantly.

The price of paddy in the Mekong Delta provinces remains stable. In An Giang province, currently, Dai Thom 8 rice is being purchased by traders at the field at a price range of 5,800-5,900 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 5,500-5,600 VND/kg; OM 18 at 5,800-6,000 VND/kg; An Giang glutinous rice (fresh) at 5,600-5,700 VND/kg; Long An glutinous rice (fresh) at 5,600-5,850 VND/kg; IR504 rice at 5,500-5,600 VND/kg; Japanese rice at 8,100-8,500 VND/kg; OM 380 rice at 5,500-5,600 VND/kg; IR 50404 (dried) at 6,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen (dried) at 11,500-12,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 at 5,900-6,000 VND/kg.

According to traders, since last weekend, the demand for purchasing dried rice has been more active, resulting in a slight increase in the price of Dai Thom 8/OM 18 dried rice.

Today’s rice price in the Mekong Delta provinces has fluctuated in opposite directions, with paddy prices remaining stable while rice prices have increased from 100 to 150 VND/kg.

Regarding rice products, the prices of raw and finished rice have increased by 100 VND/kg. Specifically, the price of IR504 raw rice is at 8,350-8,450 VND/kg, up by 100 VND/kg; the price of IR 504 finished rice is at 8,900-8,950 VND/kg, up by 50-100 VND/kg. The prices of by-products have also increased sharply due to the scarce supply and high demand. Currently, the price of IR 504 sheets is at 8,400-8,500 VND/kg, up by 150-200 VND/kg; the price of dried bran is at 8,650-8,800 VND/kg, up by 150 VND/kg.

In the retail market, the price of rice has slightly increased by 500 VND/kg to reach 11,500-12,500 VND/kg for regular rice, Jasmine rice at 15,000-16,000 VND/kg, Soc regular rice at 14,000 VND/kg, glutinous rice at 14,000-15,000 VND/kg, Nang Nhen rice at 20,000 VND/kg, Thai long-grain fragrant rice at 18,000-19,000 VND/kg, Huong Lai rice at 19,000 VND/kg, common white rice at 14,000 VND/kg, Nang Hoa rice at 17,500 VND/kg, Thai Soc rice at 18,000 VND/kg, Taiwan fragrant rice at 20,000 VND/kg, Japanese rice at 20,000 VND/kg, and bran at
