Rice prices today, August 31, in the domestic market remained stable. The rice market traded slowly because many warehouses closed early for the holiday.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, according to the update of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province on the morning of August 31, Dai Thom 8 rice stabilized at 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice fluctuates around 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 8,000 – 8,400 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice is stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price is 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, AG sticky rice (fresh) costs 6,300 – 6,400 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (fresh) ranges from 7,200 – 7,500 VND/kg.

According to traders, today’s Fall-Winter rice trading is stable, rice prices are high. The source of summer-autumn rice has dried up.

Regarding rice products, today rice prices leveled off and went sideways after a downward adjustment session. Accordingly, IR 504 raw rice is stable at 12,300 – 12,350 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice maintained around 14,300 – 14,400 VND/kg.

With by-products, the by-product prices do not change. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 sheet fluctuates from 11,900 to 12,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, the price of dried bran remained stable at 7,300-7,400 VND/kg.

In Tien Giang, rice trading slowed down on the morning of August 31, many warehouses had a holiday so they stopped buying. At retail markets in An Giang province, rice prices are stable and do not fluctuate. Among them, sticky rice costs 16,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Regular rice is priced at 12,500 – 14,000 VND/kg, Nang Nhen rice is priced at 23,000 VND/kg; long grain fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice at 16,000 – 18,500 VND/kg; Huong Lai 19,500 VND/kg; Common white rice 15,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 19,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 16,500 – 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg…

In the rice export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA) on August 29, the export price of rice remained stable around 628-643 USD/ton. Accordingly, the export price of 5% broken rice is at $643/ton, and 25% broken rice is at $628/ton.

With Thai rice, on August 30, the Thai Rice Exporters Association (TREA) updated the country’s 5% broken rice export price to 646 USD/ton, an increase of 34 USD/ton; 25% broken rice increased to 607 USD/ton, an increase of 25 USD/ton.

After adjustment, Thailand’s 5% broken rice is 3 USD higher than Vietnamese rice of the same quality. Meanwhile, 25% broken rice is 21 USD/ton lower than Vietnamese rice.

Commenting on the current rice price situation, many experts say that the trend of increasing rice prices again may occur in September because one of the important supply sources, Myanmar, is considering temporarily suspending rice exports.
