Rice prices today on August 30 in the domestic market remained stable after a downward correction. Trading market slowed down before the holiday on September 2.

Rice prices today, August 30, in the Mekong Delta region leveled off and went sideways after a downward adjustment session.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, according to the update of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province on the morning of August 30, Dai Thom 8 rice was stable at 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice fluctuates around 8,000 – 8,200 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 9 costs 8,000 – 8,400 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice is stable at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, AG sticky rice (fresh) costs 6,300 – 6,400 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (fresh) ranges from 7,200 – 7,500 VND/kg.

According to traders, today the new transaction of Autumn-Winter rice is stable, the price of rice is at a high level. The source of summer-autumn rice is exhausted.

For rice, today rice price leveled off and moved sideways after a downward correction. Accordingly, IR 504 raw rice is stable at 12,300 – 12,350 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice maintained around 14,300 – 14,400 VND/kg.

With by-products, the price of by-products is adjusted down by 50 VND/kg with dried bran. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 panels ranges from 11,900 – 12,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, the price of dried bran decreased by 50 dong/kg to 7,300-7,400 dong/kg.

Today the quantity of raw rice arrived is small. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the warehouses closed early, trading activities were quiet. Prices of all types of rice are stable. In Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, rice prices IR 504, OM 380, OM 18, OM 5451 were stable.

At retail markets in An Giang province, rice prices are stable and do not fluctuate. In which, the price of glutinous rice is 16,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Normal rice is at 12,500 – 14,000 VND/kg, Nang Nhen rice is at 23,000 VND/kg; long grain fragrant rice ranges from 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice at 16,000 – 18,500 VND/kg; Huong Lai 19,500 VND/kg; common white rice 15,500 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 19,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually costs 16,500 – 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice 18,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg…

In the rice export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA) on August 29, the export price of rice remained stable around 628-643 USD/ton. Accordingly, the export price of 5% broken rice is at 643 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 628 USD/ton.

According to businesses, the reason Vietnam’s export rice prices have skyrocketed is because of real demand from the large world market. Meanwhile, domestic rice prices have continuously increased in recent days, forcing exporters to bid high to be able to close export contracts without incurring losses.
