Similarly, for rice, the price of raw materials and finished products today remained stable. Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice is being purchased at 10,100 – 10,150 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of finished rice is at 11,500 – 11,600 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of plate and bran adjusted in the opposite direction. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 sheet is adjusted to increase by 100 VND/kg to 9,700 – 9,800 VND/kg; while dry bran is stable at 7,600-7,700 VND/kg.

In the past week, domestic rice prices continuously adjusted up with both rice and rice. The reason is that the import demand of countries is still high, while the domestic supply is low because the summer-autumn crop has not yet been harvested.

Meanwhile, at retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted. Specifically, intestinal sticky rice remains stable at 14,000 – 16,000 VND/kg. Rice usually costs 11,000 – 12,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, export rice prices remained stable compared to the previous session. Specifically, 5% broken rice traded at 513 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was at $493/ton and Jasmine rice was stable at $578/ton.

In the past week, Vietnam’s export rice price continued to increase by 5 USD/ton compared to the previous week. Market demand remains positive.

According to exporters, the outlook for rice exports in the second half of the year is forecasted to be positive in both demand and price level.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Nam – General Director of Trung An Kien Giang Hi-tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company said that the company has just closed an order of 16,667 tons of fragrant rice to Korea with the selling price of US$674/ton. This is a high price among rice exporting countries. Orders will be made in July 2023. Previously, also in this market, the company had just delivered an order of 11,347 tons of rice.
