Rice prices today June 28, 2023 in the Mekong Delta fluctuated slightly with some rice varieties, while rice prices remained stable.

Rice prices today July 28 in the Mekong Delta region increased by 100 VND/kg after falling yesterday.

Specifically, at An Giang warehouse, the price increased by 100 VND/kg, including: Fresh IR 50404 rice is currently purchased by traders at 6,300 – 6,500 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice price increased by 100 VND/kg, to 6,300 – 6,500 VND/kg.

Long An sticky rice (dry) continued to hold steady at 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg after dropping by 200 VND yesterday.

Other rice varieties maintained and went sideways include: Dai Thom 8 in the range of 6,800 – 7,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice in the range of 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; OM 18 price 6,800 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is about 6,600 – 6,800 VND/kg.

AG sticky rice (fresh) costs 6,200 VND/kg. Dried An Giang sticky rice fluctuates around 7,400-7,600 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice (dry) is priced at 13,000 VND/kg.

In Kien Giang, many high quality rice varieties, good quality rice, meeting export standards are being purchased by traders at high prices, with an average price increase of 500-600 VND/kg compared to last year’s summer-autumn crop. Specifically, the price of OM18 fresh rice, which traders buy at the field costs 6,800 VND/kg, OM 5451 rice costs 6,400-6,500 VND/kg, Dai Thom 8 rice from 6,800-7,000 VND/kg, Japanese rice from 7,800-8,000 VND/kg…

For raw rice and finished products, prices were flat today after a slight upward correction yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 HT raw rice fluctuates around VND 9,900-9,920/kg. Finished rice IR 504 at 11,250 VND/kg. IR 504 plate at 9,550 – 9,650 VND/kg. Dry bran is stable at 7,400 – 7,550 VND/kg.

At the retail market, the price of rice continued to move sideways, ordinary rice remained 11,500 – 12,500 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; Soc rice is usually 15,000 VND/kg; Sticky rice 16,000 – 18,000 VND/kg; Common white rice 14,500 VND/kg; Miss Hoa 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai 18,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice 22,000 VND/kg; Bran 7,600 – 8,000 VND/kg; Long grain Thai fragrant rice maintains 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg and Huong Lai 19,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, export rice prices were stable after yesterday’s downward correction. Accordingly, the price of Vietnam’s 5% broken rice is being offered at 503 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at $483/ton; Jasmine rice is stable at 578 USD/ton.

According to the Vietnam Food Association, in the first months of this year, Vietnam’s rice exports continued to have good growth in many traditional and potential markets.

Currently, Vietnam’s rice price is standing at a high level compared to other exporting countries. It is forecasted that rice exports from now to the end of 2023 will continue to grow due to the high demand for rice imports from other countries.

The positive signals from rice exports made the domestic rice and rice market prosper. Rice procurement is taking place actively in many localities, although this is not the peak of summer-autumn rice harvest in 2023.

It is known that the summer-autumn crop of 2023: provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, sowing 1.402 million hectares / 1.5 million hectares, reaching nearly 88% of the planned area, harvested about 193,000 hectares, with a yield of 66.19 quintals/ha. In particular, the good news for farmers is that from the beginning of June until now, the price of summer-autumn rice has started to increase, many fields have not yet been harvested, but traders have come to see the rice and put the stakes in advance.
