Rice price today January 22, 2024: Maintaining stability

Rice prices today, January 22, in the Mekong Delta region remained stable.
Recorded in the Mekong Delta provinces, today the rice market is still quite quiet. New rice transactions are slow, purchasing power is weak.

In the rice market, factory transactions are slow today, some factories have difficulty selling. Some warehouses stopped buying, waiting for the next week to see the market. In the past week, rice prices of all types decreased after increasing sharply in the previous week.

At large rice warehouses in Tien Giang, An Giang, and Dong Thap, trading transactions are sporadic, some warehouses buy but select rice, and buy in moderation. Nowadays, there are more warehouses trading rice in the market.

According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 rice is at 9,200 – 9,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice maintains around 9,800 – 10,000 VND/kg; OM 18 at 9,800 – 10,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 9,600 – 9,800 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 remains stable at 10,000 – 10,200 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuates around 8,600 – 8,800 VND/kg.

Similar to rice products, rice prices of all types also do not fluctuate. Accordingly, at market rice warehouses in An Cu and Cai Be (Tien Giang), the price of raw rice OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 is at 14,600 – 14,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice fluctuates around 14,100 – 14,300 VND/kg; ST 24 is at 18,500 – 18,700 VND/kg.

In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), fragrant rice is at 14,100 – 14,300 VND/kg; beautiful fragrance 14,500 – 14,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice 14,000 – 14,100 VND/kg; IR 504 at 12,700 – 12,900 VND/kg; ST 24 rice fluctuates around 18,000 – 18,300 VND/kg; ST 21 is at 17,300 – 17,500 VND/kg.

At export warehouses, rice prices did not fluctuate. Accordingly, the price of IR 504 Vietnamese raw rice remains at 13,050 – 13,150 VND/kg; Raw rice fluctuates at 12,900 – 13,000 VND/kg; Soc Trang raw rice at 12,250 – 12,350 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice at 13,700 – 13,800 VND/kg; Raw rice OM 18, Dai Thom 8 at 14,050 – 14,150 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam’s export rice prices remained stable after a fluctuating session. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 25% broken rice is at 617 USD/ton; 5% broken rice at 652 USD/ton.
