With An Giang sticky rice, sticky rice is being purchased by traders at 5,800 – 6,000 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (small) fluctuates in the range of 6,300 – 6,400 VND/kg; AG (dry) sticky rice at 7,400 – 7,600 VND/kg; Long An sticky rice (dry) costs 7,700 – 7,900 VND/kg.

For rice, the price of raw rice kept and went sideways from 10,000 to 10,050 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of finished rice was at 11,350 VND/kg, down 50 VND/kg.

According to traders, now that the amount of rice is small, the price of rice in buckets tends to increase slightly. White rice is firm, needs to buy a lot. Summer-autumn rice market continues to be anchored high, with many new transactions.

At retail markets, the price of rice is usually at 11,500 – 12,500 VND/kg.

The remaining rice prices remained stable. Specifically, intestinal sticky rice remains stable at 14,000 – 16,000 VND/kg. Nang Nhen rice is priced at 22,000 VND/kg. Long grain Thai fragrant rice maintains 18,000 – 19,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice costs 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg.

Huong Lai rice costs 19,000 VND/kg; Common white rice costs 14,500 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice costs 18,500 VND/kg; Soc rice usually fluctuates from 14,000 to 15,000 VND/kg.

Soc Thai rice stable price 18,000; Taiwanese fragrant rice costs 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg and bran remains at 8,500 – 9,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, export rice prices remained stable compared to the previous session. Specifically, 5% broken rice traded at 513 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was at $493/ton and Jasmine rice was stable at $578/ton.

In the Asian rice market, rice prices in Thailand and Pakistan increased for another week. Currently, rice prices in Asia are at their highest level in more than two years as importers step up buying and hoarding due to concerns that El Nino will reduce crop output. Meanwhile, world rice prices – currently at an 11-year high – are forecast to increase further in the context of the El Nino phenomenon threatening crops in the world’s top rice-producing countries.
