Rice prices today, March 8, in the Mekong Delta region leveled off and went sideways after an upward adjustment session.

According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today’s rice price remains stable. Specifically, IR 504 rice is at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is at 7,400 – 7,500 VND/kg; Long An fresh sticky rice fluctuates around 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Fresh 3-month sticky rice at 7,900 – 8,200 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates around 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg, Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates around 7,500 – 7,700 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,600 – 7,800 VND/kg; Japanese rice 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg.

It was noted that in localities today, new purchase transactions were quite good, rice prices were relatively stable compared to yesterday.

For the remaining types of rice, prices went sideways. Specifically, Nang Nhen rice costs 26,000 VND/kg; long-sliced pineapple 19,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Huong jasmine rice 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg.

With rice products, recorded in Mekong Delta provinces such as An Giang, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, Tien Giang… the average price of fresh rice purchased in the field is 7,300 – 8,200 VND/kg. In the rice market, rice prices of all types today have not fluctuated, transactions are sporadic.

In An Cu, (Cai Be, Tien Giang), Tan Hiep (Kien Giang), rice prices of all types have little fluctuation, the general level is stable compared to yesterday. In Sa Dec, rice export boats earn good wages, warehouses buy regularly, customers sell easily, and prices are stable.

Specifically, at market rice warehouses in An Cu and Cai Be (Tien Giang), the price of raw rice OM 18 is at 12,400 – 12,500 VND/kg; Taiwan fragrant rice 8 at 12,800 – 12,900 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice fluctuates around 11,900 – 12,000 VND/kg; OM 380 11,500 – 11,700 VND/kg; Japanese raw rice at 12,700 – 12,800 VND/kg; ST 21 raw rice at 14,000 – 14,100 VND/kg; ST 24 raw rice is at 14,500 – 14,700 VND/kg.

In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the price of beautiful fragrant rice is 11,800 – 12,000 VND/kg; Beautiful OM 5451 rice fluctuates around 11,200 – 11,400 VND/kg; IR 504 rice at 11,000 – 11,200 VND/kg; OM 380 at 11,900 – 12,200 VND/kg; RVT at 12,500 – 12,900 VND/kg.

At retail markets, prices of some types of rice decreased. Accordingly, rice prices usually fluctuate around 14,000 – 15,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17.00 – 18.000 VND/kg, reduced by 500 – 1,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnam’s rice export price today remains stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association VFA, standard 5% broken rice is at 579 USD/ton; 25% broken rice at 557 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is stable at 478 USD/ton.
